Northern Medical Center to Launch ACES Medicine, a Whole-Person Clinical Framework, at Strategic Summit in Middletown
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Northern Medical Center (NMC) and the Northern Foundation for Medicine & Health will host the ACES Medicine Launch & Strategic Summit on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at NMC in Middletown, New York. The summit introduces ACES Four-Dimensional Medicine, a clinical framework that operationalizes the whole-person care model for health and medicine.
ACES organizes assessment and care across four dimensions: Anatomy, Chemistry, Energy, and Soul/Spirit. It lets clinicians treat symptoms and root causes together, manage chronic conditions, and support long-term well-being within standard medical practice. The framework was created by Jingduan Yang, MD, FAPA, and is published in the Journal of Independent Medicine (2025;1(3):239–244).
“Everyone in medicine agrees that patients are more than their diagnoses. ACES gives clinicians a practical way to act on that at every visit,” said Dr. Yang, CEO of Northern Medical Center. “Modern medicine is extraordinary at acute care. ACES brings the same rigor to chronic illness, prevention and long-term well-being.”
The summit is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, acupuncturists, students and health system leaders who want a structured, measurable approach to whole-person care. Sessions cover clinical integration, brain health, mental health and medical education, and close with a roundtable on meaning and purpose in patient care.
A Local Legacy of Individualized Care
The summit’s setting has deep roots in Middletown’s medical history. On April 20, 1874, the Middletown State Homeopathic Hospital opened as the first purely homeopathic psychiatric hospital in the United States. Its founders set out to treat mental illness through individualized care of the whole patient. Later known as Middletown State Hospital and Middletown Psychiatric Center, the institution served the region for more than 130 years.
The ACES summit honors that local commitment to individualized care and carries it forward with a modern, evidence-minded clinical framework.
