World Council for Health calls upon people and institutions around the world to pay close attention to an extraordinary legal case unfolding in the Netherlands.
On 14 July 2023, Dutch lawyers Arno van Kessel and Peter Stassen initiated civil proceedings on behalf of seven individuals who allege that they were harmed by the COVID-19 mRNA injection campaign. The defendants named in the proceedings include the State of the Netherlands, Bill Gates, former Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, and Dutch officials involved in COVID-era policy.
According to the claimants, evidence submitted to the Dutch courts supports their contention that COVID-19 was not a naturally occurring pandemic but part of a coordinated biological attack against populations worldwide. Supported by a huge amount of evidence and expert testimonies, they allege that the campaign caused widespread illness, increased dependence upon government authority, and generated enormous financial benefits for those involved. These allegations remain matters before the courts and must be examined through due process and independent judicial scrutiny.
Since the proceedings began, two of the seven original claimants have died, with their representatives attributing their deaths to consequences of the mRNA injections they received. The court filings and supporting materials have been made publicly available by the RechtOpRecht Foundation.
The case has also been accompanied by the prosecution and detention of lawyer Arno van Kessel. On 10–11 June 2025, Dutch authorities conducted an armed raid on his home, detained him, and subsequently accused him of terrorism against the Dutch State. He spent almost nine months in high-security detention before being released on 26 February 2026 under electronic monitoring and with his passport surrendered. He is reportedly prohibited from practising law. The treatment of Arno van Kessel echoes that of German lawyer Reiner Fuellmich, who remains unlawfully detained in a German prison. The circumstances and legal basis of these measures demand transparent international scrutiny.
World Council for Health therefore calls for lawful, independent investigation of the allegations raised in the Dutch proceedings and for international legal professionals to examine whether comparable proceedings should be initiated in their own jurisdictions. Covid was an international event. Investigations must be grounded in the principles of international law, including the Genocide Convention, the Nuremberg principles, and the Rome Statute.
The allegations of crimes against humanity is of the gravest nature. They should not be suppressed or ignored. We urge competent individuals in positions of authority and the media to properly investigate criminal complaints, facilitate lawful proceedings for alleged harms and malfeasance, and cooperate internationally. The world deserves truth, accountability, transparency, and justice.
